How would I go about making a diecast or plastic model car to be radio controlled?

Would a diecast car be too heavy? I would like to use a diecast model car because of the detail but, if that isn't possible I also have some plastic model cars I could use. I would really prefer using a diecast car though. Thank you, so much!How would I go about making a diecast or plastic model car to be radio controlled?
you can go to a hobby shop and buy an rc engine and controller for less than $20 and superglue it to the model car.
