Why is a heating system a model for the way that the thyroid gland is controlled by the pituitary gland?

Low temperature--%26gt;thermostat turns on heating--%26gt;warmer temperature--%26gt;thermostat turns off heating. An example of negative feedback control.

Low thyroxine --%26gt; hypothalamus releases Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) --%26gt; stimulates anterior lobe of pituitary to release Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)--%26gt; stimulates thyroid to release thyroxine --%26gt; turns off TRH %26amp;T SH release. Another example of negative feedback control.
